The Skills Compass: Navigating the 7Cs of 21st-Century Learning
Preparing young people for the challenges of the 21st century means developing skills that go beyond academic knowledge, fostering independence, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
This Erasmus+ project brings together four European schools and a non-governmental organisation to promote the 7Cs, a set of essential competencies for tomorrow's citizens.
The project involves students aged 14–18 and their teachers, aiming to integrate these skills into everyday learning through innovative, inclusive and interdisciplinary approaches.
Project Activities
Through international training activities, collaborative experiences and exchanges, students and teachers will explore key areas:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Creativity, communication and media literacy.
- Collaboration and cross-cultural understanding.
- Digital skills and responsible use of technology.
- Independent learning and career readiness.
The project also includes “7 Wonders of 21st Century”, an eTwinning initiative encouraging cooperation among students from different European countries.
Expected Outcomes
A key result will be the “Interdisciplinary 7C Guides for Teachers”, providing practical resources to help educators integrate 21st-century skills into their teaching.
The project will also strengthen European citizenship, active participation, environmental awareness and shared EU values.
This international learning experience reflects IESS's commitment to educational innovation, European cooperation and preparing students for the future.
